Got called in for Jury selection about 10:30. I was the fifth alternate empaneled (ie: five people were asked to step down by the defense, the prosecution, or the judge), and promptly recused myself, since I didn't think I'd be able to render an impartial verdict. I think it surprised the State's attorney (who looked like the midpoint between

anarcha_crisis and

mighty_man's ex) that I'd come right out and say so with the second sentence out of my mouth, but, really. . . I didn't want to waste their time. So I spent the rest of the day (until about 4) cooling my heels and re-reading The Fountainhead.

As previously mentioned, it was a lovely weekend. Saw some great people, met some new ones, did some fun stuff. Also began painting the bright violet accents on GMBAN now that it's dark blue with light grey trim, and it looks pretty damn good. Unfortunately, my digital camera is flaking out, and won't remained powered on when the USB is jacked in; short of getting a CF card reader, I'm at a loss (it does the same thing when it's hooked up to either computer at the house. Grr.)
