"My personal opinion is, it was a shameful act for someone to disclose this very important program in a time of war," Bush said. "The fact that we're discussing this program is helping the enemy."

No, Mr. President, the shameful act was hiding this abridgement of Constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms.

We're supposed to be better than the terrorists. That means behaving honorably towards not only the people you're trying to shoot, but your own citizens.

I understand America used to be a democracy. I'd like it to be one again in my lifetime.

anytime a discussion of something is "helping the enemy", that's a BIG FUCKING SIGN that MORE discussion is warranted, not less.

i disagree slightly - i think the discussion should be halted, and the person who accuses the people who want to examine the issue of helping the enemy summarily taken out and beaten until they consider discussion to be a better course of action.

Why did he feel it was okay to pre-empt Family Guy for this shit?

They showed the whole show - I was going to be pissed if they cut into that! But it was just showed later.

Funny stuff! There's only one friend here at work that I can talk to about the Family guy.

Yep. I'm utterly unsurprised by this, but pleased that it finally got publicity. I mean, the guy really does want a police state. It's totally obvious.

Actually, we are a "Constitutional Republic", which is a bit better than a true total democracy, as it means that your rights end where mine begin (and vice versa). No amount of a majority vote can circumvent that. Better put, no amount of a majority or minority vote *should* circumvent that.

Good luck on that these days, however.
