I'm all for unintelligent design, anyhow. Whose idea was it to put the esophagus smack next to the trachea with only an epiglottis betwixt you and certain death?

Let's not forget knees. Arguably the single weakest joint in the body, yet it has to support basically the entire weight of the body at something less than straight under best case scenarios.
