Continued feline asshattery makes a good night's sleep more elusive than it ought to be. K blames the full moon. I blame brains the size of almonds.

Looks like one of the neighbor's cats is knocked up now. Greeeaaat.

I'm in something called "Integrity Training" at work today. I have no idea if they're trying to imbue us with integrity, or if it's an acronym for something else, but they're providing breakfast. For my own amusement, and the amusement of those around me, I'm complying with the official company dress code [slacks, not jeans; shoes, not sneakers] and wearing this. [I blame [livejournal.com profile] trid for sharing that on Corpgoth a couple weeks back.]

Watering our bougainvillea has made it go insane, in that nuked-out-mutant-from-a-1950's-movie kind of way, and that sucker is almost up to the roof. I hope we get some rain soon, if only to knock down and wash off all the damn pollen. Treespooge everywhere, sheesh.

In the "misleading, but in a good way," department, I warned K not to take the Sligh on-ramp yesterday, citing a vehicular clusterfuck, when in fact there was a dead dog (looked like a young pit bull) on the shoulder [called animal services to let them know & take it away; apparently, it was the third dog hit over the weekend in the county].

At some point last week, we saw The 40 Year Old Virgin, which was pretty funny.

And, in an effort to undermine any remnant of plausible deniability that I'm a big fucking dork, we hit a comic book/game shop with [livejournal.com profile] critus and [livejournal.com profile] netgoth, and now I have one of those frikkin' D&D miniatures that more or less resembles my character in the campaign he's running. Because I'm cheap and lazy, I think I'm going to continue to play double-axe wielding half-Orcs forever, if only to avoid having to buy another one. ;-)

Finally found a good route home from the office, only to discover that Chelsea Charms [NB: don't google her at work] is going to be in town next weekend at one of the gentlemen's clubs along the way. This is the sound of me not going to a strip club, even though I hear she's a sweetheart.

And with that, I hope they have decent munchies at HQ.

Is Emerald City still there? I haven't been in years.

If you do end up playing the Drow War, watch out for Wendi in the pantheon of Gods.

You didn't end up including me after all, eh? ;-)

The Geek workshirt has been on my ThinkGeek list for many months. I'll probably get around to getting it eventually. I mean... how could I not?

I read about a method to stop said Feline Nocturnal Asshattery a while back. It's kind of time intensive, but in a "get even" sort of way, also rewarding (and seems to work as well).

Cats are nocturnal. They sleep something like 16 hours a day, and those are the ones you and I are awake. So, the book I read suggested that you take a weekend to "adjust" the cats schedule. What you need to do is keep waking them up aaaaaall day long, aaaaaall weekend long. This will alter their sleep patterns to a daytime wake/nighttime sleep one. It also has rhe added bennie that you get to keep the cat awake in the manner he kept you up. It recommends re-adjusting the cat daily by keeping him/her awake as best you can during the hours after work and before bed.

Not very practical when one has other life-issues to deal with in ones down time... but it sure sounds like fun.

There's always the notion of a cage in a room faaaar away from the bedroom, too. Had eviction from the sleeping quarters not worked here, that is the next step I would have taken with our fur-monsters.
