To the ignorant French rioters and their supporters:
With unemployment around 14% in the developed areas -- soaring to 24% in some of the rural parts -- it's time to fucking face the fact that your glorious social model is bad and will always keep you down. Businesses, stuck squirming beneath elephantine regulations, will not hire more of you snobbish dumasses because Le Gross Frere (Big Brother in mangled Frog) makes it nigh impossible to get rid of you if you are really bad at your job. Making it easier to get rid of dross and keep the good will create more job opportunities for all. Does anyone actually teach economics in France?
Oh, and shoot all your Union leaders. Time to move on into the 21st century there, you sour-wine drinking sots.

Rafe here: Atlas Shrugged is finally paying off with salient commentary, as this CPE is the first step towards "Directive 10-289," which Rand invented as a way of saying "Everybody has to maintain the status quo in terms of productivity and consumption so things don't get any worse."

The bigger problem is that the few people that do work have to support everyone else. Just like at home.
