For anyone joining us late, this article pretty much puts a bullet in the head of the myth of the "Liberal Media," as both the AP and Time Magazine do their damnedest not to mention that the convicted racketeer Governor of Illinois is a Republican, and Time went so far as to point out that a Democrat is also being investigated in the very second sentence.

I can blame [livejournal.com profile] jaylake for spiking my blood pressure this morning, but I suppose I deserve it after the McSweeny's fruit bat link yesterday. :-)

Well, they did mention that he was the third of the last six governors to face federal charges (50%? Not bad). What were the other two?

And as for the other one being a Democrat and also being investigated, why not mention it? I mean you're going for 4 for 6, right?

That means 2/3rds of the governors since 1973 were corrupt -- who really gives a crap what political party they belong to? If they get convicted, there's a cleaning of the house, the other party comes to power and they cheat, lie and steal too. Rinse and Repeat.

Is anyone really keeping score over which party is worse? *grin*

Yes, but assiduously avoiding making mention that the current, convicted on 22-of-22 counts governor is a republican smacks of intentional omission. That's inexcusable, and pretty much puts lie to the perpetual myth of a "liberal media bias."
