Attention Hollywood:

Enough with the f*cking remakes already.

KTHXDIE.

Oh goodness, what are they doing now?

I'm right by all the studios, ya want I break some kneecaps?

Start with, I dunno, all of them.

Ah, I thought you were being specific. I generally agree with you. A couple here and there are ok, only because of my love of (good) cgi...

But yeah... 98% of them need to burn.

It's all about the almighty $

Without having spoken to him, my first guess would be Superman?

Let's see, just off the top of my head:

Superman, The Longest Yard, The Omen, The Poseidon Adventure, King Kong, The Hills Have Eyes, War of the Worlds, Stepford Wives....

This doesn't even begin to take into account sequel-itis.

Don't forget gratuitous CGI fucking with old films (What the hell are all these aliens doing in a backwater port like Mos Eisly?), and colorization...

I've got "101 secrets of successfull screenwriters" near the commode at home, and, conspicuous by its absence is "BE ABLE TO COME UP WITH UNIQUIE IDEAS" or "BE ABLE TO WRITE."

Dude, yr way too late. Hollywood used up all 3 original plots back in the '40s.

Yeah, but they at least kept churning out new TITLES. This is a flagrantly incompetent as the presidency.

Yeah, I made a post of this to my seperate journal. The Omen kind of sparked it for me - but there's a host of other ones that seeing yet another remake makes me wanna puke.

And wth is wrong with the first omen that it needs to be redone?!? What, are they trying to rope in the next generation?

I'm thinking Casablanca with Ralph Fiennes as Rick, and Hilary Duff as the babe; updated to now so we can shoe-horn in some Pro-Islam/Anti-war message as well.

You're not helping, though I did admit that I'd like to see "The Fountainhead get the Peter Jackson treatment" a couple weeks ago.

Not enough crowd scenes to interest Jackson. The whole thing could be easily done with a cast of 12.

How about this, for a shocking new and unique movie:

8 assorted individuals from all walks of life meet up at this abandoned mansion, where they must stay the night. Their characters will be superbly cliched, so that the audience develops strong feelings for them right away.
Now, here is the kicker....the house is haunted! And they are all trapped until morning! While they are killed off one at a time!

*Gasp* That sounds so original! I can't wait to watch that movie! It'll be such a breath of fresh air!

Well, some remakes are definitely improvements -- anyone see the animated version of LOTR/The Hobbit?

Also to add to the list: Miami Vice.

Recently announce Dallas movie really got me excited......

I think TV shows made into movies should ultimately become pinball machines
