[profile] jabber brought this little tidbit about the 2004 election to my attention, and at this point, all I can really say to it now is:
WHAT TOOK YOU SO FUCKING LONG, YOU JACKASS?

1) Obviously, if the voting irregularities had not been the result of planned vote-rigging, the mistakes would've cancelled each other out: there would've been just as many irregularities that favored Kerry as favored Bush.

2) What is the Attorney General of the US doing filing an amicus brief anyway?

That was a depressing read to start the weekend on. I can't say that I'm at all surprised I've been saying since 2000 that election reform is the only thing that's going to matter long term. Who cares about the trumped-up issues when one party owns the companies that make the unauditable (by design) voting machines. I didn't even know about all the other underhanded crap they did. Talk about stacking the deck.
I'm hoping the election this year doesn't turn out the same way, but I won't be surprised if there are a lot more unreported "anomalies".
