best. tech. support. call. evar.

*phone rings*

Coworker: hey, you're weird... who does that dance/techno song with all the religious soundbites?

Me: *pauses for .37 seconds* Front 242. Lords of Acid also did a version. You're welcome.

I might throw in a Thrill Kill Kult mention there, too.

Not a version of 242's thing, but they have at least a couple of tracks with lots of religiousy samples (though of course I can't name any off the top of my head now).

i may not have the breadth of trivia chops of some folks (though, curiously, i can almost always come in at least second playing trivial pursuit), but some shit is just there.

of course, i have -no- idea what the title of the song is, only that it's not "hey, poor."

I know it, I just can't think of it right now.

That'd be 'Welcome to Paradise"

:)

thank you! god, it drives me nuts when the title and the lyrics have nothing to do with each other. *laugh*

heh. You can actually blame my mother for that one, in a way. I knew who Jimmy Braggart Swaggart was before I knew who 242 was.

Sad, but that's how I remember the song name after all these years.

That's the beauty of this kind of answer (or question, perhaps). It doesn't matter WHAT song it is, the answer is still true, and even probably applicable. Hell, if they're REALLY confused and and assuming a Jacob's Ladder sample is a religious quote, it could be VNV too.

the one that isn't actually titled "hey poor, you don't have to be poor anymore." :-)
