It occurs to me, especially for the people I don't know as well on my f-list, that I don't necessarily know much about you. So, here's my question:

What do you do for a living, and what are your main hobbies (whether you get paid for them or not).

Me? I am an internal tech support minion at a credit union by day, and a varigated computer, fitness, fiction, and sports geek by night & weekend. I also herd cats, literally and figuratively.

Don't you already know this about me? If not.. you obviously aren't reading ;) hehehe

Regardless.. I'm a design consultant for a hardscape company.. looking to perhaps go the full yard and get my architect degree/license, but we'll see if I fizzle out before making it ;) Hobbies.. obviously there are the dogs and music.. that about sums most of it up ;)

I am an environmental scientist with a large multinational consulting firm.

My hobbies include modding the [community profile] ljdq, reading, & going to the theater. I have trained for one triathlon & plan to train for others in the future. I'm running a 10k on April 1st.

I administrate servers for Windows clients (mostly that means servers running Windows, but also a lot of work on NASes) at an automotive company, I like to play console games, and am a gourmet and audiophile. I think you already knew all that though.

I'll play along. I'm a writer & editor for a major website by day. The rest of the time, I'm a historical costumer, world traveler, & the Gothic Martha Stewart. There's other stuff, but that about covers it.

Ahhhh, it's never too early in the morning for the Animaniacs. At one time, I ~was~ the "would you like to take a sur-vey?" girl (Do you like George Wendt???)

Now I'm a stay-at-home mom, Girl Friday and other assorted nonsense.

Would you eat beans with George Wendt?

Man, I love being around my people. Have a seat! :)

*sitting on the Wheel of Morality, btw*

For (very little) money I sort paperclips for a regional hospice, and for the shear joy of it I convert sugar into alcohol and am [livejournal.com profile] deviathan's cabana boy.

I am the Online Service Specialist at a local Credit Union. Which basically means I handle near all of the electronic requests (e-maled service requests, online loan applications, applications for bill payer service, etc).

When I am not doing that, I can be found performing live at real life venues or online in the virtual world "Second Life", yutzing around SL for fun, traveling a little here and there (yutzing around RL?), and doing home repair/maintenance. All of this is done with or without the family people, depending.

I'm a glorified paper pusher for a 20,000 strong nursing association based in DC. Herding cats is a very apt description. Here, like everywhere else I've been, I fix broken processes and streamline workflow whenever I can. Oh, the excitement, it burns, it burns. But hey, I'm happy and healthy, so screw excitement for a while. That comes soon enough :>

My hobbies include atonal olfactory compositions on the buttflute, especially in elevators, living indiscriminately, bitching, and copulating all-too-infrequently. Otherwise, I'm still learning guitar and doumbek, occasionally dabble in woodwork, sketch, painting, or whatever other media floats my boat at the moment, hanging out with friends, and tinkering with altered states of consciousness in hopes of *truly* fucking something up in my wetware. Sometime by the end of 07 I hope to have finished building an isolation tank for the basement and perhaps a ritual space in the attic. During my waking hours, I occasionally pretend to be sane. I won't be held accountable for any other hours :)

I'm currently sorta-unemployed (I work in politics so off-years don't do much for my bottom line) helping to develop some software for the company that pays me very well every two years so that we're not sorta-unemployed the year they're not paying us well. Herding cats is a pretty apt description of that line of work.

When I'm not working, I read, attempt to turn the desert in to a garden and am a food and wine snob.

I'm the divorced parent of an insanely bright teen-aged girl who had minions when she was 9. My goal in life to help her learn to use her powers for good. ;-)

I'm the Right Now administrator for the third largest state university in Texas (yeah, yeah, like that's a tough one for anyone who wants to figure it out). I've spent the last almost 19 years in the tech support department and finally clawed my way into the back room where I don't have to face users directly. I'm also getting more active in the state employees union. (Right Now makes CRM software - in this instance a dynamic FAQ system that's very cool. Odds are, if you've looked for info at Social Security, the Post Office or any of a bunch of major companies, you've used their product.)

I'm also a micro-pro sf&f writer hoping to one day be able to drop the micro. ;-) I love doing the regional cons I get invited to as panel fodder.

Hobbies: Politics. Cats. I love to cook, but seem to eat an inordinate amount of take out and prepared stuff. I buy far too many books and manage to actually read far too few. I play in fandom, as well. Even still engage in certain, ahem, 'writing exercises' when the mood takes me. ;-) I love to walk, but arthritis has put the kabosh on that, sadly. I love to sing, which tends to drive my kid insane, though sometimes she tells me she likes my versions better than the recordings. She's a good girl. ;-) I spend far too much time online. ;-)

Since it's somewhat evolved, I'll put it on up. You know most of this crud, but it's interesting to see what other people do. I share.

I am the Online Production Coordinator for a children's publisher. I don't openly name my firm, but any of you who were kids in the U.S. have likely bought books from the little newsprint flyers that your teacher handed out in grade school. I herd cats to make the online version of those little flyers happen. I alternately love what I do or it makes me literally beat my head against a wall. But hey, it's for the kids, man.

For fun I like to cook, drink, make things to drink, cook things to eat while drinking, stalk the former lead singer of Toad The Wet Sprocket. I have a bad NTN trivia habit that also leads to drinking. Most roads lead to drinking, actually.

Hobbies include riding the horse I bought in December, watching anime, dancing whenever the opportunity presents itself, and learning.

My day job is as a web application developer, but I hope one day to return to doing real programming that involves C, hardware etc. Alternately, I'd love to make enough money off my film making hobby, but at the moment that seems unlikely.
When not asking every one I know "what can we film?" I watch too much TV, read Sci-Fi and play the occasional PS2 game.
