I have a pretty good base color, and tan well (as well as enjoying being outdoors).

Then you are a lucky man indeed. I went through a goth phase mostly out of self-defense for having very pale skin.

Through a quirk of genetics I like to refer to as "being a mutt," I actually tan pretty decently. It's just that my starting point is kind of blinding.
