Did I miss anything?

Other than sprog-infested flights due to using MCO (Orlando Int'l) as our departure point for BIG SAVING$$$, travel was cake (direct flight, no road traffic to speak of in either direction).

Saturday found us having some quality hang-out time with [livejournal.com profile] yokes1971 and the missus at their place before K's grandmother's 90th b-day festivities (which were suitably good), followed by a bit of hanging out with the cousins & their respective partners, chewing the fat.

Sunday was a cookout at K's parents' place, with my folks & sister, and some of K's friends & their kids also coming over. A little chaotic, but a good time. Returned home in fairly good order.

Only the sad news an elderly friend passing while we were en route home was downbeat. Elsie was 96, and like a surrogate grandmother to me when I was a kid (she, her sister, and her sister's husband lived next door).

OMG! Please pass on my condolences to your family. I know Elsie and your family were close. She practically adopted me because you and your parents had.

Yeah. Robin, Becky and I were putting together a list of reminiscences, and it was bittersweet.

She'd been going downhill for a while, and I guess she was under 90 pounds. But, yeah... 96 years is a pretty good run.
