[livejournal.com profile] mitejen called my attention to the fact that Home Despot is throwing their support and ad dollars in with Billow Reilly, whereas Lowes has pulled theirs.

I know where I'm gonna do my shopping for that sort of shit from now on.

HD got this in their bit bucket from me:
Home Depot's refusal to discontinue advertising on The O'Reilly Factor, and the dismissive attitude towards customer concerns about this policy, has convinced me to take my business elsewhere. As a new homeowner with a lot of upgrades (paint, flooring, windows, an addition) in my near future, you've cost yourselves several thousand dollars' worth of my business, as well as that of my like-minded friends and colleagues.

Mr. O'Reilly's ridiculous diatribes are not doing your company any good by association. You would do well to distance yourselves from his brand of hateful divisiveness.

In less political news... I got nothin', really. It was a weekend of insufficient sleep punctuated by a heck of a nap; also, lawn mowing and bougainvillea pruning/training.

I haven't previously mentioned it, but we're on our third (fourth? possibly fifth....) generation of feral kittens at GMBAN - if proof was needed of the "mate with many" procreational adaptation of felis felis, this generation is it. Skitzy's daughter is all-black and skittish. Skitzy's brother, Tux, is black and white. There is also a tortoiseshell tomcat that belongs to a neighbor. The kittens? Momma's build (slight & narrow) & demeanor (apparently, skittishness is a dominant trait), one is black & white, one is tortoiseshell w/ white paws and tail tip.

In other trivial news, I'm giving Yourself Fitness a try at the house, in addition to my 4-5 weekly sessions at the gym at work. Hopefully a little more variety will build up what I want built, and tear down what I want torn down. One session has convinced me that my supposition is correct - I have shitty range of motion and flexibility in my hips (and, annoyingly, that my balance isn't as good as I'd like it to be). Also, that getting one's hands caught in a ceiling fan while doing jumping jacks is sub-optimal. Yeah, low ceilings and small rooms do not make for an ideal workout environment, but that's what I've got to work with.

Tomorrow is TBBC for b-day dinner w/ coworkers (& K - usual suspects, feel free to descend like much-needed locusts); Thursday is a team appreciation at Gameworks for the recent huge project being completed, so we get to bail out a little early. This coming weekend, we're off to Denver to see [livejournal.com profile] tylorael and a few other folks.

Hell yeah, Looks like Southern States, True Value, and anything but Home Peepot are getting both my home improvement dollars! Thanks for passing that over the transum!

Yet another reason (aside from Home Depot's complete lack of customer service & screwy layout) why I prefer a local chain, Orchard Supply Hardware.
