Yes, this is a Lumberg Icon post at 1915 on a Saturday.

I work at a credit union. Much like other financial institutions, we're often running limited operations on weekends[1], and are *always* closed on holiday weekends.

Which is why, when my phone started ringing at 0755[2] this morning, I was a little surprised.

It stopped ringing, about every half hour or so, around 1300.

At 1700, the "ZOMG TEH SERV0RZ ARE BORKEN!" alert pager started going off every five minutes. Said server (our internet banking service) provides a helpful alert to visitors, "Due to scheduled maintenance, service will be unavailable from 1700-2100." In the course of scheduling said maintenance, the helpful OH MY GOD I AM DYING HERE alert function was inconveniently overlooked, so, every five minutes, I get to hear about it.

And people -wonder- what kind of solace I find in various forms of libation....

These things always have an off switch.

Said switch may be in the shape of a large rock, but they always exist.

Boo for work on a long weekend!

They say these things come in threes. First [livejournal.com profile] critus, then you, now me.

There will be much drinking at the BBQ tomorrow night. You can bet your kilted ass on it.

Holiday Weekend = FUCKING FIRED.

Ugh. I just had a night like your day.

Car alarm goes off. Bleeps & wails for what seems like half an hour (probably only minutes) finally dies.

Blessed sleep.

Car alarm goes off again.

Repeat until morning.
