blue hair squicks the boss.

okay, granted, i'm still at the lovely "i dyed my hair last night, and my scalp is still stained, as are my fingertips" stage, but he's putting off a very confused vibe about it.

"so, you're leaving tomorrow?"
"no, next thursday. i'll be back in the following tuesday."
"you mean we have to put up with you with blue hair for a week?'
"yep."

so, either i'll be dying it black the day after getting back from convergence, or he'll mellow out and i'll keep it for a couple more weeks, but it'll be back to black for K's bro's wedding Memorial Day weekend.

this, friends and neighbors, is most probably the last hurrah after a decade of mostly-entertaining follicular amusement.

Ya know, if I had only known then that no job I have ever held or possibly will ever hold since the hair product distribution gig would allow me to have any haircolor other than my slightly unnatural (gray covering) brunette, I so would have cashed in.

I kick myself daily as I realize that the store I managed held a lovely array of bleaches, dyes in all unnatural colors, all the products I would ever need to attain completely professional freakish color, and full permission to experiment with any stock we held (sales of blue and black nail enamels went through the roof during my tenure, so they *encouraged* me to play with some of the weirder stuff) and I squandered those years in maintaining a Jennifer Aniston haircut with blonde highlights. *sigh* I am truly ashamed.
