Axis & Allies is made of FAIL. The lack of flexibility in play order makes it a matter of either a zerg rush or attrition, and that holds no appeal. I prefer the organic chaos of Shogun even more than I enjoyed house-rules RISK (if you roll 1-1-1 (defenders could get a third die if they hit snake eyes), you nuked the territory, and kept one irradiated unit in it, untouchably, for five rounds.
