[livejournal.com profile] sukipot has a nice sentiment going about this weekend's various meanings (at least among some belief systems). My own cynicism aside, it's nice to entertain the notion of hope on occasion.

I, naturally, have my own take on things.

I'll spare everyone a long-winded deconstruction of yet another comparison between Christianity and the more typical forms of vampirism (drinking of blood, eating of flesh, etc), and instead submit for consideration this whole "rising from the dead" thing does carry more than a few hallmarks of the typically sp00kie stuff; yet the latter is generally written off as fantasy while the former is embraced by "normal people" and guides societal mores and, occasionally, national policy.

On a lighter note (My "Have you nailed your messiah today?" shirt -will- be worn to the club this evening. . . )

Sunday, when Jesus is supposed to have come out of the cave, if he sees his shadow, does that mean we have six more weeks of Lent? ;-)
