Nothing sucks quite like waking up from a dream of a house party full of friendly freaks (Zymergist, Lobster, Miranda, etc) with a beer in each kilt pocket and everyone singing along to Ministry's "Psalm 69" to a workday Wednesday that's overcast and full of a head cold, with the forecast of "Holding the Fort" for the afternoon.

Leaving the office yesterday, I apparently disappointed folks I don't even know, because I'm not dressing up this year - apparently, the general perception is "you give off that Halloween attitude." Well, thank you for noticing, but I feel like ass, so I'm dressed as "guy with kleenex" this time around.

"Halloween is a time for you guys to come live in my world for a while. I live like this all the time." Paraphrase of a response I gave to a cow-orker a few years back...

That was much more interesting sunday/monday, when it was pumpkin-colored. Now it's your standard translucent snot.

I have to wear a costume every freaking day to work with these jokers. I don't need to up the ante.

I deliberately went extra-corporate to day to f*ck with their little minds.

heh, workdays do suck after a vacation. I am working graveyards (the shift, not actual graveyards or haunted houses unfortunately) this week calibrationg fume hoods, then leafe at 6 F!%& o'clock am on sun to fly to danbury CT for a week of training. I will be spending Halloween in a medicinal chemistry lab.

BTW, taking anything? I have found Airborn and Emergen-C help me keep from getting sick and recover faster if I do.

I powerbombed myself with regular old Zinc tablets from Rite Aid upon returning and was able to stop the Cruise Plague at nothing more than a little runny nose action. At least I think it's stopped.
