My "steampunk" rant, reposted in the "blog for a beer" section at Fantasy Magazine (http://www.darkfantasy.org/fantasy/?p=309), has won me $10 in beer money. I am contractually obligated to buy beer with it. *hand*staple*forehead*

The bit of flash fiction I had published at flashquake.org early this year (Volume 6, Issue 2, Winter 2006-2007) is among their nominees for the 2007 Pushcart Prize. Those more informed than I assure me this is something of a big deal.

Was it you who was saying steampunk was the new pirate? I've been noticing it's very true. I even said it to a tattoo artist and her victim client, who was getting a floral-y design with gauges and gears tattooed across his shoulders. I think I scored twenty cool points.

LJ now has a filter setting for the kind of content you see, to filter out offensive or mature content. Go to this link: http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/, and to the bottom of the page to set it to "do not filter my results".

I set my journal to "contains adult themes" because, well... I'm pretty much not kidsafe. heh.
