we've got one guy down with a kidney infection, K had two coworkers hurt while I was in vegas, and cubic metric assloads of work keep landing on me before i've shoveled any of the rest of it off.

this weekend, i am going to curl up with some beer, a good book (in this case, "Bloodsucking Fiends" by Christopher Moore) and geek the fuck out - moving my pc into a new (quieter, watercooled) case, and shlep a hodgepodge, hand-me-down box to a buddy in charlotte, in hopes of getting his sorry ass back online for some cooperative electronic blowing-shit-up.

oh yeah, sleep would be good at some point, too.

I've got the stress cure for you :)

A movie you should get :).

Ankle Biters (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00007M5J9/qid=1051896350/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/102-0853584-8244158?v=glance&s=dvd&n=507846) - A small town is overrun by ankle-biting, blood-sucking dwarf vampires. Things get complicated when the vertically-challenged coffin-creepers get their itty-bitty hands on a sword with the blood of the last slain tall vampire. With this relic, they can create a super-race of Shaq-sized Draculas out of any tall human. Now, the half-Vampire, half-human Drexel is the town's - and the world's - only hope to stop the invasion of the mini demons. There are no SHORT fixes to this TALL problem.

i'm not sure which worries me more. . . the fact this movie exists, or the fact that you were able to provide a link & synopsis of it that friggin' quickly. ;-|

heee. I found this a few weeks ago. I'm planning on ordering it so I can payback a few friends for "Cannibal: The Musical" and "Killer Klownz From Outer Space".

I'm geeking hardcore this weekend. Except for Indian lunch with the extended r00m of d00m krewe (Margaret + Elisabeth + Matt), I'm in for the weekend playing Tropico.

Arrrgh! Avast ye Mateys!!

argh. I want toys.

define "toys" - i may be able to hook you up. right now, i've got a pair of full-tower cases, one heavily modded, one mildly modded, and a PSU, plus a scsi cd-rw (ricoh 7060S), a bunch of NICs, and a whole lot of miscellaneous stuff, including a 19" crt, that i would love to not have taking up valuable closet space.

pics of watercooled case are respectfully requested!

not l33t m4573r l4rg0-57y13 b33r-c0013d? ;)

if it didn't specify distilled water. . . pheer t3h l4rg0.

for pix, koolance.com. i'm probably going to bastardize it with charcoal side panels, and maybe the front bezel, since it's based on the same chieftec server chassis that i've already got, unless one of you fine people wants a black full-tower case with a 120mm blowhole, plasma-torched in the top of it (fan & grille included).

*g*

Silent P is working all weekend, so my plans include getting our DSL installed, downloading a metric crapload of music that I have been previously denied due to dialup, and getting lots of sleep. Oh, yes, sleep is good. Tonight's plan involves nothing deeper than stopping by the liquor store for a six or two of Mike's Hard.

I just finished Bloodsucking Fiends yesterday. Made me laugh a few times, but I still like Coyote Blue best.

i'm going to tackle that after "lust lizard," but first. . . "Good Omens."

Wise plan - Good Omens is, naturally, genius.

Lust Lizard and Sequined Love Nun aren't as good as Coyote Blyue, Practical Demonkeeping, and (my second favroite Moorebook) Lamb. Purely my most humble opinion, though.

i liked lamb, but it stopped being so funny towards the end, and i missed that. i wonder if that's a recurring theme (BSF also was more story, less spit-take the last hundred pages).

Hmm... upon reflection I'd have to say that it does, in fact, seem to be a theme.
