Just in case anyone actually stumbles onto this:
I think LJ sucks.
This is the embittered opinion of one person who has seen previously vivacious, well-traveled dialogue forums decay to a shambles of sparse, meandering, lost comments in a vast sea of indifferent silence.
Everyone has come here because everyone -else- came here. It's like every good person I used to know suddenly decided to use AOL and forsake the real internet because they decided to go someplace simple, well-lit, and populated with one-click "friendships."
But I look at the places I used to see everyone, and there are silhouettes on the walls where they used to be.
I guess the desire to control who gets to see what part of what you want to "share" was a siren song that a feeling of being a contributing part of a community, instead of one of a multitude of bandleaders was too strong for public forums to stand against.
Fuck you very much, LiveJournal
