$10,000 - Honesty, I'd sit on most of it due to economic fears, but if I had to spend it I'd do the above, and then have a contractor redo my powder room into a 3/4 bath.

$1 - stick it in my wallet or pocket and forget about it until I need a few dollars in cash.

$10 - Put it aside for weekend entertainment, or, given what month it is, put it in my Christmas fund

$100 - right now, probably use it to pay an application fee. Otherwise, it would be fun spending money so I can leave my bank account alone.

$1,000 - pay off credit card

$10,000 - put it in my new cello fund. Combined with the value I'll get for trading my current instrument in, this would almost totally pay for a new cello and save me from taking out that loan.

As you can see, I lead an exciting life right now.

side note: interesting how no one puts anything charitable down. If I were not currently spending more than I have on applications and debt, I'd probably use the $1000 for charity.

I am more than slightly flabbergasted that a cello costs as much as my car.
Date/Time: 2008-12-06 18:19 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] naeelah.livejournal.com
The sad thing is that even at $15K it's still only considered an intermediate instrument. Much better than student, but 10s of thousands cheaper than, say, a professional orchestra musician would have.

And that's just the cello. *facepalm* Don't get me started on bows.

$1 through $100 would go to my savings acct.
$1,000 - half would go to savings, other half would go to towards repainting my acura matte black, OR more likely setting up 2nd merchant account and hiring out payroll for the new biz.
$10,000 - half into savings, the rest into a complete recording studio redo including the limited edition Neumann mic and that stupid little Roland electronic drumset, new mixer, etc. etc. etc. I won't continue to bore you.

Still playing on a Saturday...

$1: get inspired to buy a 'sspro drink on my ATM and tip the latte boy.

$10: This would prolly get lifted by my kids in the form of two fives so they could blow it on utterly meaningless (but fun) crap at the Farmer's Market.

$100: Mmmm...date night, definitely. With a sitter, good food and alcohol.

$1,000: buy the coffee grinder I want but can't justify paying for and park it next to my new 'sspro machine that (somehow) I *could* justify if I got the grinder for 'free'. Sick.

$10,000: I want to say something sensible like pay off debt, but I think it would go in the 'fuck, I live in LA and have to scrape up a downpayment the size of most people's mortgages' savings fund.

What would YOU do?
