Knight Rider GPS!

Got my gift from [livejournal.com profile] aishlynn last night; overcoming her atavism for toes in general, I'm now sporting a pair of Vibram Five Finger Sprints at [livejournal.com profile] bathalamus' recommendation. They take a bit of getting used to.

Potentially interesting stuff in the works has me busy this week, not to mention, oh, shopping for my family[1] and getting that stuff sent out.

[1] I might buy myself a brother and a nephew this year, to complete the set. ;-)

Oh, you would -totally- love the store they're sold at locally -- informal parking lot tucked among old-growth trees, tons of outdoor supplies, etc. Kim and I both were saying as much to the staff (who, to a person, seem to have at least one pair of these of their own, heh) and each other. "Tessa would love this place!"

*laughs*

Granted, my primary *blinking* purpose was at the purchase of brother and nephew, but that's good, too. :-)

well, in case "shopping for my family" was to be intentionally and humorously misconstrued by any of the readership, i felt a witty footnote was in order.

Those 'shoes' are kinda gross, but Knight Rider GPS is beyond cool.

after a bit of acclimation, they're getting rather comfy.

Muahahaha! Succumb to the evils of the ToeShoes! Horrify your loved ones! Terrify your neighbors!

I know I'm a great big princess where shoes are concerned, so I'll stick with the foot and back pain, thanks.

Thems freeky. So with those and a utili-kilt on, and whatever strange T-shirt you might be sporting, you must realize that you are a boss-level target for old people who really want to run over "these damn little wierdo punks" in their giant land yachts, right?

if i still had weird hair, i'd be inclined to agree. now that you and i share a 'do, from the waist up, i'm pretty stealthy.

I don't know why that reminded me of the lyrics to "The Centaur" (http://www.actionext.com/names_b/buck_65_lyrics/the_centaur.html)

I'm a man
But I'm built like a horse from the waist down

I freaking LOVE mine.

My only complaint is that they smell. It doesn't matter if I wash them or not, they've absorbed a great deal of foot odor. If I get another pair I might get some of the socks to wear with them, to cut down on the odor. But I love them for my kb and squat workouts.

I wish more shoes were designed this way, like leather gloves for your feet and such.

Eeek @ teh shoes. I know they're comfy, I know someone else with them, but feet really creep me out.

So, do you need to wear toe socks with them, or do you just go barefoot in them?

only gone barefoot so far. i winced when i saw the $12 price tag for a pair of the socks that go with.

Had a pair for several months and they can be awesome both for the mess with people's mind that's gonna happen and the nice comfort.

yeah, they seem to cause double-takes, at least in the green/grey color scheme. black on black ones with the mesh uppers (which had been my first choice, but the store didn't have my size in stock) are probably more subtle.

ninja-like, even.

You n Ken should wear em when we visit - dunno if they go well w/ kilts though.

Yea...and they def give that monkey feet appearance.

they creep kim right the fuck out; i'm not allowed to wear 'em at the house *laugh*
