[livejournal.com profile] serpentstar: I see your 93 and give you 102. Followed by a dose of my usual free-range shenanigans.

Nice work... though... I'm out of practice! You should be able to manage more than 102! I guess it was just a warmup though. ;)

I think it's a matter of ROM and gravity being stuff that there isn't a lot of wiggle in; I suspect that my output with the 54# would be similar (Hmmm... this sounds like something to investigate at lunchtime).

Yeah -- to get much faster than 30 to 35 reps a minute, you have to be deliberately forcing the swing somewhat, which I suspect alters the nature of the exercise a little. Still -- it is possible, and KB competition scores indicate that people are going considerably faster than that.

[livejournal.com profile] maelstromsl posted vids of a KB competitor a few weeks back, and they don't use the full ROM for their stuff; they don't even get below the knees, which was quite the surprise to see.

Well, were I the judge, I'd only be counting full ROM reps.

1... still 1, that was crappy... 1... 1... Oh, OK, that one just about counts, 2... 2...
