digitaldiscipline: (Get Off My Lawn!)
So, not only could I not get to sleep (in bed at 10, asleep sometime around 3), when I did drop off, it was to dream fitfully about not having any milk in the fridge, or being forced to read, in its entirety, what I can best describe as "The Wall Street Journal as written by People Magazine."

Seriously, I do not give a shit what shoes Ben Bernanke was wearing when he gave his talk to the Fed, nor do I need to read a breathless, two-sentence recap of corn futures trading.

However, some of the celebrity spots my local NPR station is running during the current membership campaign (Ira Glass: "Seriously. You're listening to me kvetch at you during a membership pledge drive. If that doesn't mean you're a hardcore NPR listener, I don't know what to tell you." Alec Baldwin: "Thank you for not supporting NPR in its mission. I thank you. Television thanks you. Let publically-funded radio die a slow, inglorious death, so that commercial radio - real radio - can get back to doing what it does best: sell advertizing.").

Once my first paycheck from the new job arrives, I'm pledging.

Bah. I wouldn't be surprise if the WSJ were reporting on that now. Color? PHOTOGRAPHS? What the hell happened to that thing?
