I have just given a vigorous middle finger to the Fox-bought Republicans who want to cut monies to NPR for firing Juan Williams by donating way more $$ than I had originally planned to my local NPR station.

Both halves of that equation give me a warm, fuzzy feeling.

At how many people apparently care so much about NPR they are concerned about their hiring/firing practices, since well no-one on the right ever listens to NPR anyway because they are irrelevant wackp left wing noisemakers, or something to that effect, but all of a sudden everyone on the right is outraged by something they do.

Because, LIEK ZOMG, they fired a guy (who'd already been demoted & disciplined) who Faux News had as their token pseudo-liberal to try and keep up their illusion of "fair and balanced" viewpoint expression.

It was, and it spurred quite the conversation (https://www.facebook.com/rafe.brox/posts/169471439729920) among, by my guess, a traditional republican, an original-intent tea party libertarian, and a democrat, as well as myself.

Couldn't see it, (possibly because I don't even know yr. real name or vice versa), but you rock for doing that, but I have a question for the "tea party libertarian" you found:

How can a libertarian also be T[heocracy]P[arty]?

I mean, just to choose one example from the rich cornucopia before me, look at Angle-- if, Gods forbid, she wins, Nevada is going to have to change its name to West Utah (P.S. I need a T-shirt that says "I wear black and I vote.")

before the religious whack-a-doos hijacked the whole thing, the gist of the "small government" thing had appeal.

nobody likes my "social progressive / fiscal conservative" blend - pare the government down so it's incapable of fucking with my private life, thanks.

I'm always happy to hear when NPR gets another donation.
