"I do not know when or why I began to love speed metal. I just do. On top of that, I have never, to the best of my knowledge, heard a song by the Replacements or Hüsker Dü. The musical question that most bedevils me is not when R.E.M. or U2 or anyone else began to suck/got really good but rather that of why everything Metallica recorded after "... And Justice for All" is so tragically, inexplicably awful?"

the "sad" thing is, I could only identify a grisham novel out of the authors listed. i've read a couple of his, and found them to be really, really thick fluff. beach reading for court tv junkies.

my folks like him, and sue grafton. *shrug*

look, i'll recommend Christopher Moore's stuff vehemently to anyone who'll listen. Ditto with Stephen Brust. i honestly can't think of any particular author, other than maya angelou and james joyce, whose body of work actively offends me. sure, i'll sneer at danielle steel aficionados, but i own most of what steve king wrote. . . in hardcover.
