Started staining the lumber for my floor last night. No idea how it turned out dry, because it's fucking dark in my yard and I don't have any lights up on the exterior of the addition or the garage yet. On the upside, it did only take about ten minutes to stain a 15 sq ft bundle with a single coat, and it looked all right ("instant Nantucket" was my first remark... I grew up in a neighborhood with a lot of Cape Cod style homes, so bringing a bit of that into my bungalow with a light bluish grey stain appeals to me... and it should echo the shade I've painted the walls in the west half of the house.
Just wrote my first .bat file in... jeeez, I don't know how long.
... and in further proof that some of the people I work with and I get along too well, there was just a semi-serious investigation of something called The Beer Mile....
