Because I first posted this on Twitter over the weekend, it may not have been caught by folks who would otherwise be interested:

.... holy shit. They've raised over a hundred thousand dollars (that ticker wasn't there when I donated Saturday morning)... at about 20:1 ROI, that's two million dollars in debt that can be erased from people who are struggling with it.
This is one case where I've put money where my mouth is, because I've had to claw my way out of a deep financial hole (and remember how hard it was to ask for help; thank you again to those of you who contributed when that happened), and I've seen how much stress and pressure it can put on people I care about when collections agencies pile on in the wake of something that is not always avoidable (un-fun fact: health issues are the leading cause of bankruptcy in the United States).
