Got what was almost an adorable picture of the hero-kittens this morning.

(for those of you in need of a kitten fix, there were two videos posted over the weekend; one is fairly humdrum, the other has more activity)

That's Kirk looking up at the camera... while cuddled beside Bond, with Rorschach draped over his butt. Ten was thwarted by a leaf jostled by an errant breeze.

In not-kitten imagery, this is me suffering through an infinite, hellish set of Scott curls.

New program is tough but doable; I am supplementing it with a 30 day pass at a local yoga studio (they had a special).... and my coach wants weekly progress shots. My first experience in the class was challenging in that "I did a bunch of other stuff already today, so I am going to sweat prodigiously and try not to get it on the other students. At least I know I'm working hard, even if I can't do an inversion to save my damn life."

I joked with [livejournal.com profile] cassandrasimplx that it's obvious Josh got her bribes - I'll be doing yoga and posting selfies because I'm supposed to.

Hahaha, this entire post is awesome. Go [livejournal.com profile] cassandrasimplx's bribes, and thanks for brightening my day!

Kittens make everything better.

Peanut butter - kittens do not make peanut butter better.

Towel is laid over the top of my inclined bench, upon which the back of my arms are supported as I am doing curls. Missing leg is simply far side of the visible one from the camera's POV

That screencrab was from one of the first two sets, which were... too damn hard (75#)... I then dropped to 65 and 55 for subsequent sets, and my arms still hurt like hell three days later..

I'm so jealous of the weight you can move.

this is, sadly, about to take a hit (see shoulder update from today)

I may see if I can trap-bar deadlift ALL THE WEIGHT[1] before i have to go on the shelf.

I pulled 465 for a deadlift double conventionally without too much trouble this week. i'm hoping to hit a PR before dragon*con (505 is current); today's lifting calls for benching 270 for a 3/4 range of motion, and i've got probably five weeks of progress out of the six remaining to keep piling on those particular poundages. i need to kick as much ass as possible before i have to take a medically-enforced sabbatical from the iron and become a reluctant cardio minion.

[1] based on the plates and bar configuration, this should max out around something in the neighborhood of 660-680 pounds; I haven't gone heavy on that move lately, but was able to pull 620 a couple of months ago.
