"Sean Bean's character is over there."

Not exactly lost under the fuckitude of my back injury - because that was large, painful, and easy to identify - was a more insidious thing - a lump under my chin, which is now proceeding along the underside of my right jaw.

When every fucking paragraph on a site that isn't WebMD has the fucking c word, even I get nervous. I'm seeing an E/N/T specialist on Tuesday, because a week's worth of antibiotics and anti-inflammatories have not only failed to knock it back, it's worse today than it was Wednesday.

Fuck forty, right in its goat ass.

On the upside, I was able to squat 255 6x3 without pain (and without my belt) yesterday, and am second in my hockey league (and my team) in scoring... we might be getting in an extra game (next week had initially been vacant, but it's been filled with an extra game, or maybe things just got bumped up a week).

Tiny is very, very pregnant, so I may try to bring her in to the "old" bathroom to have her kittens. Batting around a possible naming convention for them, but am not letting the cats out of that particular bag, literally, until they're hatched.

jesus, this isn't alarming in the slightest. the two closest to the chin are where mine are:

"rarely involved early" is not exactly reassuring verbiage

Ugh. Good on you for getting on that. Best of luck and let me know if I can help/send care packages/be someone who's been there to bitch to/etc.

Currently weathering the initial WWAGAGAGAHAHAHAARRBBAARRLLLL freakout. getting reassurances from the BTDT crew. steadfastly convincing myself it isn't metastasizing by the minute, and that it's probably a muscle knot alongside my trachea, so i should chill the fuck out.

also, kind of wondering if they make terminator-style titanium replacement jaw prosthetics, just in case :-)

(also, being furious and furiously busy on call at work - 11 calls between 515 and 6pm; heading home to lift now)

Oh crapsickles. Here's hoping it's just a cyst or a something harmless.

Been getting some reassurances that it might be something far less ominous, but, you know, stupid brain is going to gnaw on the worst case for a while until I get it to STFU

Yeah, mine does that too. Good luck, and if you have to grind your teeth between now and Tuesday, grind them on somebody who deserves it.

The UK folks (National Health Services is a division of the Department of Health in England) are less alarmist. http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/lumps-swellings/Pages/Introduction.aspx They even have photos... anything looks like your issue?

As I got diagnosed with Hashimoto's (thyroid) this year [my thyroid's still working, for now, can reduce thyroid production], a Goitre popped in my head as a possibility?

Also, I can't remember (or find in my chat records), but my mom ended up with a lump in her throat the fall my sister and I went off to college. A quick out patient surgery and a bit of vanity issues about a scar on her throat and she's fine.

Hoping for the best.
