i was mulling the idea that damnation is something religions invent to scorn nonbelievers who are enjoying themselves at lunchtime because i was reflecting on what was, essentially, the highlight of my hospital visit yesterday [other than conveniently having a pay stub in my wallet].
during registration, the woman was asking me the usual litany of personal info [hampered only by my inability to speak above a "sexy croak"]:
Name?
DOB?
Address?
SSN?
Religion?
"None."
*baffled pause*
What, you don't get any atheists in here? I thought G*d was supposed to smite non-believers, and you'd be swimming in infidels, or something. maybe all the other unbelievers have real jobs and health insurance. heh.
Upon further review, maybe I should have said "Jedi."
