Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits
drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the
limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always
so when it violates the rights of the individual.

:::Applause:::

Gonna send this to my 'representatives' (who, in honesty, represent me about as much as a tomato represents the beef industry).

Just pointing out how anything can be rationalized. You're the one who shared the Boston Globe 1984 article (http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2005/06/24/the_return_of_1984?mode=PF) yesterday. . . *G*

If Jefferson were alive today he'd be killed by the CIA before he could march on Washington with a column of tanks. He'd be a "serious threat to our national stability" or some shit. They'd either snipe him down or assassinate his character by dredging up his dalliances outside wedlock. Fuckers.

There is a film coming out called "V for Vendetta." Shows a guy in a cloak holding a couple of nasty daggers, possibly wearing a mask (rear 3/4 view.) The tagline on the poster reads: "People shouldn't fear their government. Government should fear it's people."

I think I just found your next favorite movie.

Go to www.aintitcool.com

You'll have to look for the story but it should be at or near the top. I know squat about the film or the story but the tagline made me think of you.

If you want to watch V for Vendetta, I strongly recommend you go check out the graphic novel first. It's a true classic.

BTW from what I remember, V didn't get the green light until Sin City actually did well (another graphic novel fest).

Woooo....a recommendation for a graphic novel. I am all over that. Thanks!

the only one i've read was Miller's "Dark Knight," which I enjoyed.

Frank Miller's "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns" is arguably one of the most important and influental series ever created. Instead of having batman and robin being absolute lawful goody two shoes....superheroes were presented with their own dark sides -- greed, hunger, addiction, etc.

It was a serious turning point for comics. And a fantastic read. I think baal-san actually has the original, first print series of four books iirc.

Glad to meet you, Mm. "Seeth" has told me good things about his guild. If I ever get my butt back onto WOW, I look forward to getting to know you all.
