At least I've dealt with nothing but friendly people (other than the chica at Progressive, whose quote I'm not going to be using, since xferring my old policy, right now, is the cheapest option). But I just got off the phone with an idependent insurance agent after having the following conversation:

"I'm sorry I'm not going to be able to do too much for you - with a prior ticket within the last three years, because you live in in Orleans Parish, your initial payment will be $663, with subsequent payments of $557."

"Oh, that's not too bad at all. I'm paying $900 for six months now."

"Those are monthly payments."

*thunk*

As far as most insurance companies and independent agents are concerned, 70131 is contiguous with 70130. 70130 is downtown NOLA, across the street from the FQ. There's the small matter of the MISSISSIPPI FREAKING RIVER between that and where I live (along with about seven miles of real estate). But I'm technically still in the city of new orleans, so i get assraped on insurance rates.

fuckers.
