I brought one of my KBs to the office this week to make use of at the company gym.

I've subsequently learned that a 36lb (1 pood) hunk of cast iron, left in a car in the Florida summer, will absorb and retain an astonishing amount of thermal energy.

It will also get a lot of questions from one's fellow gym rats, and offer many opportunities to discuss "alternative" workout techniques and get folks excited and interested in shaking up their workout routine.

Also, it's a handy excuse to make a goofy LJ icon. Feel free to steal and share if you're so inclined (also available in B&W).

"You never know a man until you have eaten a pood of salt with him."

~which utimately leads to a lot of drinking, I take it. . .

I likes Kettlebell swings, as one part of a varied gym routine.

Yeah, its funny, my 1 pood tends to retain more heat from my hands in the handle than the 12k one - given, it is a thicker handle... I like the iPood graphic - the dark red background is especially fetching. When I get around to making pinbacks of the one you sent me, I'll be sure to mail over some to you.

i was originally doing inverse image B&W ones, but the red seemed apropos, given comrade pavel's enthusiasm, etc.
