Deadlifts - 215# (150# + ~10# bar + 54# Kettlebell) - 10×10 (GVT) - 60sec recovery between sets (coworker-type guy (CTG) (see comments, here), came along for the ride at 135# (70+bar+KB) and managed 88/100 reps (sets 6-8 were done as 5/7/6); not a bad showing)

So, I guess my next GVT session for the deadlifts will need to be done with more weight — I’m guessing that I’ll just jump up to putting 72# on the bar (both 36# KBs) and see how that goes.

The Pull-Up shenanigans at the end were due to CTG mentioning Mr. Statham and The Transporter.

side note for people with long hair, or a mass of dreadlocks... put a ponytail on the top or front of your head (think big dorky devil lock) before attempting the behind the head pullup... TRUST ME... it sucks when you bonk it with the bar otherwise :(

Can't say I'm totally sold on the behind the head pull up though, sure its showy as hell and its pretty much the highlight of Death Race (I thought the movie was dumb... so sue me), but its probably hellish on the rotator cuff area (the movement seems to mimic the noob behind the head lat pulldown) - I will research though.

New book on the way from Dragon Door... specifically for VO2Max training - should be interesting, I'll yabber about it at some point I'm sure...

I'm sure it's a showy, ego move, rather than a productive lift, for exactly the reason you mention. From behind, it shows off well, but from an actual productive work standpoint, I'd rather do regular ones.
