I'm a programmer, but I work on a mainframe system using COBOL. Same shit my mother did at my age. I use a PC at work, but I couldn't fool a 12 year old about my PC knowledge. Hell, I can't make McAfee stop with the goddamn "an upgrade is available" pop-ups on my new PC. I thought security software was supposed to STOP evil annoying crap like that - not ADD to it!

For MacAfee: Right click the Red M, go to Updates, and click configure. There's an option there to disable automatic updates. The caveat being that you need to remember to update your shit once a month or whatever. [and, yes, i'm fully aware there was an update today. heh]
