Okay, so I've been on the Velocity Diet 3.0 program for a week at this point. First things first:
The requisite gripe now dispensed with, let's see A) how well the program is being followed and B) how well (or if) it's working.
Speaking of results, I'm pleasantly astonished to say, "Yeah, there already are some." I've lost just over three and a half pounds, and, based on the Virgin Health Miles kiosk at the office gym, about two percent body fat. The numbers I saw at lunch today are the lowest for both of those I can remember seeing since sometime in the late 90's.

Man, do I miss spicy food.

I am actually starting The diet Tomorrow I am waiting for my suppliments and stuff to get here.
I want you to know it is honestly the respect I have for your opinion that started me down the path and the diet looks to be pretty decent that sealed the deal.
I am in a lot worse shape than you so it should be really interesting to see what this does to me. :)
I am about 240 and 5'9" so the BMI is way up there. I know going on these shakes is gonna be a trip.
But so it wouldnt be a complete shock I have been eating better and losing the carbs and stopped guzzeling corn syrup a week or so ago and already lost 5 lbs
good continued luck

I've tweaked the shakes somewhat - I don't have milled flax seed in mine, so I take psyllium capsules for fiber, and usually substitute a slice or two of pepper jack or chipotle cheddar cheese for the spoon of peanut butter in the evening. I've found that, in a pinch, putting 8-10g of the Leucine into an off-brand protein shake (EAS Myoplex) brings them closer into compliance (I planned poorly, and am running low on MetDrive until later this week)

and I got peanut butter almond butter and one other to vary and the cheese thing is a great idea.
I am just excited to get going on this and yeah the before pictures are gonna be scary as hell.

... and my non-fitness related stuff.
I wasn't kidding about the George Jetson diet, of nothing but shakes, powders, and capsules. :-)

Congrats on your continued diet and exercise lifestyle changes. :D
One of these days I'll pick up the pace and kick my metabolism into gear, too...
