I woke up grumpy because it was 5am and my work pager was going HEY, SOMETHING WENT 'SPLODY, YOU FIX NAU!

That's okay, I'm pretty sure that's exactly what hit Jack's and Tepesh's pagers at about the same time.

I've actually met Mike(Tepesh), and in person, he's a pretty good guy. It's disappointing to see folks get caught in the halo of shit sometimes.

Entirely probable. However, "nice guy" doesn't get a pass when it comes abetting clusterfuckery, any more than an asshole buying me a drink doesn't get a "thank you". The reputation doesn't influence the response to action so much as the actions influence the reputation.

This is true; it's been a while since our paths crossed, and this whole sordid affair does tarnish things a fair bit.

Actions and associations speak louder than nicey nicey bullshit. Given his long term involvement with these fuckwits, I don't trust him as far a sI could throw the dude.

I have to say I noticed a huge difference between replying to a thread where he was posting in an official capacity about Tea Party tickets versus replying to a contact request. The contact request was just like any other 'regular person'

could you clarify what you mean here, because i can't seem to parse what you're saying.

There was a posting (http://community.livejournal.com/agc_afterglow/64024.html) to [livejournal.com profile] agc_afterglow that [livejournal.com profile] tepesh mentioned the tea party tickets being non-transferable to answer a question about someone looking to acquire a second ticket for their boyfriend. The postings I had back and forth did not seem to make sense, and were a "beaurocratic answer" of "too bad, your money paid is just a loss" and was a very different "atmosphere" to the small conversation I had with him for a reply to the c13 'contact' page. The contact reply was more down to earth normal-guy conversation instead.

There really was no culprit, and it self-corrected after about half an hour, so, not merely do to the hour, I was in the dark.
